Christine Hornung is a Calgary-based visual artist who works with oils, charcoals, wax and collage. She is passionate about motherhood and ecology and the complex intersections of the two.
Her recent work is an exploration of universal themes of motherhood with its invisible work, tensions, and complicated relationships. Her current project is a series of self portraits using wildlife avatars in narrative portraits of herself and the most important people in her life.
